This piece below by Erin Reilly (Twilio) calls for a re-look at nonprofit funding. Erin talks about the urgent need for funding models that support not only direct programmatic efforts but also investments in technology and technical talent. Technology-driven scaling of social missions and impact is a no-brainer. And yet many funders focus on programmatic outcomes and just in time impact as their funding principle. Couple of years ago I asked a panel of funders, why they shouldn't learn lessons and adopt a model similar to impact investing? The simplest answer was something like - where should we start? who should take the first step? Anyways, are you seeing a change out there? What is your perspective? #TechInclusiveFunding #Data4Good https://lnkd.in/gi4hvKpZ?

🙌🏽Closing the opportunity gap starts by closing the gap between institutions and the residents they hope to serve - bringing people together across difference, unpacking our complex systems, and building innovative collaborations for change. 💡When Bryan Wang, co-founder & CEO of bosWell, joined GenUnity's Spring Health Equity Fellowship, he had the chance to practice this and experience firsthand how the relationships he built led to a deeper understanding of our health systems and the opportunities for him to make a difference. 🙋🏽If you're interested in learning more about Bryan's story or other GenUnity fellows, check out the blog post or sign up for our newsletter using the links in the comments! #opportunitygap #connectivetissue #socialcapital

This is precisely why one should never rely on a single provider to provide full redundancy. I don't care if it's a redundant route or power supply or whatever, if it's on the same platform or running through the same core network, it's subject to a single bad config to bring it all down. I've seen it happen too may times. https://zurl.co/C8Z5 #Unifiedcommunications #innovation #cloudcommunications #convergeip #Cybersecurity #cyberattacks #dataprotection #dataprivacy

According to the Fundraising Effectiveness Project by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global), overall donor retention rates hover between 40-45%. Since the cost of retaining your donors can be up to 5x cheaper than acquisition, the more donors you can retain year-over year, the more cost-effective your acquisition efforts become. The question is: HOW can your nonprofit implement an effective donor retention strategy that works with today's modern donor? Virtuous' 'Donor Retention Playbook' helps nonprofits of any size with the tactics and strategies to help retain your donors. You’ll also gain the tools to create a map for each donor segment which will act as a daily reminder to your entire team of who your target audience is and how you can reach them. I have officially been in digital fundraising for 10 years today. 😮 And in 10 years, many things have changed. But some things haven't. Fundraising is fundraising. Community is community. On and offline. So don't freak out if your cost-per-acquisition, email deliverability, tracking, etc. are worse than they have ever been. Focus on the fundamentals. Integrate everything. Test new tools and channels. Experiment and play with AI in your workflow. And then iterate. 💖

Primarily dependent on highly restricted grant support that does not cover general operations, today’s Non-profit’s spend too much time trying to cobble together a patchwork of funding sources. That's why we created our Next Generation database to simplify the process - no more countless hours trying spent to piece together funding sources. A range of additonal resouces and tools are included - as well as access to our online fundraising literature and tools [including updates] #Fundraising #nonprofits https://lnkd.in/dgiPYqMG
