How do you become a warehouse specialist?
Warehouses are highly process based, so it's important to understand the core of those process. A great source of educating yourself on Warehousing and Logistics is WERC (Warehouse Education Research Consortium. https://werc.org. There are many avenues to a specialist role, most are driven by applications (WMS or Warehouse Management Systems, like warehousing in general these applications process driven, so learning how to use these or at best configuring this systems will certainly move the needle in you understanding and provide for a career in perhaps warehouse systems implementation consulting. Of course as Warehouse and Logistics are a part of Supply Chain you can continue you growth through APICS (CSCP, CPIM) and more certifications.

How do you balance digital transformation risks and opportunities?
The end is always the beginning. While as is analysis has value, you can fall into the trap of taking all your baggage or bad decisions. I’d like to suggest that Industry X projects are the most successful. Transformation should be focused on people and process. The optimization of both is done by technology adoption. Always consider the value of each process through component business modeling, this set the value roadmap. Successful transformations are built around upskilling personal, moving rote work to systematic automation while allowing people to interject constant improvement into cross functional business process. This is augmented by reward systems and accountability programs.

What are the most common misconceptions about ERP performance measurement?
The Technology of ERP is sound. The methods are strong. It uses the adoption that is broken. Deeply understanding the availability of function within the suite and finding adoption techniques and the incentive s to stay the course of improvement with a lifecycle approach. Consider that you may not get all you need at once, but don’t abandon the journey. Start always with the end in mind, reward the business, reward the workforce, stop and recognize success, but keep striving for more. The enemy of better is best. Focus always on better as the best is yet to come. As you adopt up-skill for more, optimize always, exercise the next version. ERP is a house with many rooms well connected but always needs effort. ERP evolves so must we.

Phase one of legacy data integration to drive sales forecast to demand planning.
Kimon and I working closely with Mangesh to drive a best practices baseline install of IBP for SAP. This was to improve our sales forecast process and drive a highly accurate STat forecast for demand planning across 37 disparate shipping points.
Upon our completion of our S4 implementation we would create a parallel path in IBP as phase 2 that would include supply planning and create HCI integration…Phase one of legacy data integration to drive sales forecast to demand planning.

Upon our completion of our S4 implementation we would create a parallel path in IBP as phase 2 that would include supply planning and create HCI integration to S4.
Phase one was successful and started an institutional S&OP process that is lead and proctored by myself and Kimon.Other creators -

SAP OS/DB Migration for AriZona Beverages
-
I designed and executed the test and final migration of AriZona’s production SAP ERP system from Microsoft SQL Server on HP/Intel to DB2 on Power/IBM i. During the plan development, I prototyped SAP’s parallel export-import method to accelerate the technical process. I orchestrated the final cutover with AriZona's technical and business subject matter experts, and we completed the final migration in under 20 hours total production downtime.
