The Dallas Innovation Alliance STEM Committee discusses and develops ways to build smart cities, IoT and data into programs for use in K-12 classes. Some of the ideas we're exploring include supporting DISD Maker Spaces; utilizing environmental and lighting data to talk about health and sustainability, experiential IoT programming, and others.

The DIA will address key challenges faced by Dallas, and cities around the world, around aging infrastructure, strained natural and fiscal resources, and increased density in the urban core, while providing the technology and connectivity needed to power the future for all Dallasites. The DIA Data Committee has an ongoing initiative to develop an open-source software platform that will aggregate data and provide opportunities for citizens, entrepreneurs, and organizations to build smart city applications on top of the platform.
