🚀 Exciting Insights from Jiyang Gao, CEO of Galaxea AI! 🌟 Z Potentials Meet Jiyang Gao: from his early days at Tsinghua University to pivotal roles at Waymo and Momenta, Jiyang has been at the forefront of autonomous driving and now leads the charge in revolutionizing Embodied AI. 🔍 In this exclusive interview, Jiyang opens up about: The essence of engineering is decomposition and measurement. 90% of engineering problems can achieve over 90% success by following repetitive methodologies. Autonomous driving is the simplest form of Embodied AI, with highly similar system architecture, product definition, and testing processes. In the long term, Embodied AI presents an opportunity to transform human productivity structures. A fundamental principle of AI is that it will inevitably fail, and high failure costs mean greater difficulty in achieving a commercial closed loop. Future successful AI products must meet the criteria of low failure costs and low data acquisition costs. Technology is the dominant variable in Embodied AI; understanding technology determines how products and commercial closed loops are constructed. Any AI scaling law must satisfy three elements: a large volume of high-quality data, scalable training objectives, and models with strong representation capabilities. The first phase of the Embodied AI scaling law must be based on real data combined with imitation learning and must be built on a commercial closed loop. Learning efficiency directly determines whether it can be commercially viable. At least for the next three years, the path combining reinforcement learning with simulators will not lead to the ultimate goal. AI has no magic; it only involves rapid iteration in the correct direction. Their latest publication, "An Improved Algorithm of Image Edge Detection Based on the Degree Connection Situation" appears in the Journal of Data Science and Intelligent Systems. This innovative research addresses the limitations of traditional edge detection algorithms, which are often sensitive to noise and exhibit poor denoising capabilities. 📰 Anomaly Detection on Network Traffic for the Healthcare Internet of Things ✍ Hsiao-Ching Huang, I-Hsien Liu and Jung-Shian Li The Internet of Things (#IoT) has revolutionized technologies in society, including in households, offices, factories, and health centers. Among these, the Healthcare Internet of Things (#HIoT) significantly transforms medical assistance for patients. By using wearable devices with remote network connections, caregivers monitor patients’ physiological data to gain valuable insights into their health conditions. Despite the many benefits of the HIoT, several security vulnerabilities still exist. Hackers can exploit the internet connection to steal or modify credential information regarding patients, violating the integrity and confidentiality of the security policy. Moreover, they can launch cyberattacks on hospitals or critical life-support systems, further endangering patients’ lives. Consequently, it is crucial to implement robust cybersecurity measures to enhance the security of healthcare services. Therefore, the authors proposed an anomaly detection method based on network traffic for the HIoT, adopting Markov models. Owing to their simplicity, interpretability, and well-developed theory, the Markov models have been applied to network traffic prediction and modeling, serving as a viable approach to cater to our needs.
