    PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans with student veterans already on campus in order to help them navigate college life, identify challenges they are facing, refer them to the appropriate resource on or off campus, and provide ongoing support to their academic and personal ventures. The PAVE Program is a collaboration between the University of Michigan Depression Center & Department of Psychiatry and Student Veterans of America.

    James changes inmates’ lives through his work in Vocational Village, an employment training program. Knowing that the success of returning citizens weighs heavily on their employment, James arranged video interviews for qualified inmates with employers. This helped many find work prior to being paroled. These job offers give them a great start at a new life. James frequently travels to build relationships with more employers who are interested in hiring inmates.
