Live Sync Your Blackmagic Cameras With DaVinci Resolve 19 Public Beta 4 https://ift.tt/Tuqh4gn As we’ve covered in the past, Blackmagic Design is hard at work making DaVinci Resolve into one of the more powerful, and popular, video editing platforms for filmmakers and video professionals. And as we’ve seen with previous public beta releases, these updates have been coming fast and often. The latest update, Public Beta 4, is set to add Live Sync features to sync your Blackmagic cameras with DaVinci Resolve while you’re out recording. Let’s take a look at this helpful new technology and explore how it can be integrated into your production workflows. Blackmagic Live Sync While we’ll get into the rest of the updates coming to Resolve here below, let’s quickly look at this Live Sync feature which is pretty much the highlight of this new beta release. In DaVinci Resolve 19 specifically, users will now be able to live sync video directly from their Blackmagic cameras. When live syncing, Resolve can create H.264 proxies which can be stored in a bin in Resolve even while you’re still recording with your camera. These files will be synced to Blackmagic Cloud and you can further forward them to any other Resolve workstations as well. Resolve 19 Beta Update 4 Here are the rest of all of the updates coming to DaVinci Resolve 19.0, including support for multiple GPUs, 4K output, motion blur effects, temporal and spatial noise reduction, multiple AI-based tools, HDR tools, camera tracker, voice isolation, multiple Resolve FX, 3D stereoscopic tools and remote rendering. Cut New multi source option to view time-synced footage. Support for displaying clip markers and keyframes. Support for a large enhanced viewer in the cut page. Live overwrite now starts with a single frame duration by default. Interactive Resolve FX and Fusion effect overlays in the viewer. Improved grouping of Fusion effects. Decompose nested clips from the clip context menu. Ability to find timeline clip in multi source. Apply transitions to all edits and set default from context menu. Option to select checkerboard and grey alpha viewer backgrounds.* Replay Workflows Support for the cut page as a media player and playout system. Support for the DaVinci Resolve Replay Editor. View ATEM multiview feeds live in DaVinci Resolve. Live sync camera clips in DaVinci Resolve via Blackmagic Cloud. Add points of interest and create replays from multiview and timeline. Apply Grades to Clips or Node Stack Layers with DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 2 Update https://ift.tt/GxvpOZK Since the reveal of DaVinci Resolve 19 as part of Blackmagic Design’s suite of announcements at the beginning of the conference in Vegas this year, we’ve been excited to see how interested editors and Resolve-heads respond to the latest version with its new features. And, as is to be expected for any new major update from Blackmagic in particular, the brand is back with a new beta 2 update for Resolve 19 that should add even more new support and features, plus—of course—provide some minor to major improvements and bug fixes. Let’s check out everything new coming to DaVinci Resolve Public Beta 2. Apply Grades to Clips or Active Node Stack Layers Perhaps the biggest new feature in DaVinci Resolve 19 Public Beta 2 is a new ability to apply grades to clips or active node stack layers. Users will be able to compare grades between an image in the gallery in Resolve or as a timeline item, which you can then either apply to the grade itself or to a layer or clip. Resolve 19 Public Beta 2 will also be getting some updated media management tools where users will now be able to edit audio in MP4 and MOV video files, as well as added support for safe area overlays to use in the edit timeline. Edison Research’s latest Share of Ear study looks at where audio is most heard by light listeners – and it gives an advantage to radio. The Share of Ear studies how Americans aged 13 and older engage with audio throughout their day. The data categorizes listeners into two groups based on their daily engagement: heavy listeners and light listeners. As the average daily listening time is four hours, heavy listeners are defined as those who spend more than that with audio. These individuals primarily listen at home (59%), in their cars or trucks (21%), and at work (16%), with a smaller percentage (4%) listening in other locations. In contrast, light listeners – those who spend one hour or less per day with audio – predominantly listen in their vehicles, with 60% of their audio time spent in cars or trucks. 52% of the light listeners engage with audio exclusively while driving. For radio stations and advertisers, optimizing for the in-car audio experience could be key to capturing the attention of light listeners. The car was long been a bastion for radio. New data from Audacy, derived from four surveys conducted between 2021 and 2023, underscores the continued importance of audio in the connected car environment, with traditional radio maintaining a dominant role in vehicular audio consumption. Despite advancements in vehicle technology, two-thirds of drivers still prefer AM/FM radio over music streaming services, and there’s a growing interest in voice-activated features, with 45% of respondents desiring them in their next vehicle. Previous Share of Ear findings challenged the assumption that Gen Z and Millennials have abandoned AM/FM radio for streaming services. Contrary to popular belief, 53% of this demographic still tunes into radio daily, predominantly through in-car listening. Notably, 56% of these younger listeners use the radio exclusively in their vehicles. In Q3 2023, radio’s share of in-car listening time has surged to its highest point in eight years. The proportion of over-the-air radio listening climbed by 13%, accounting for 45% of total listening time, a figure that aligns with pre-COVID levels from Q4 2019.
