People who travel frequently want to get through the long security lines as quickly as possible. If they are willing to pay for that privilege that puts more money into the airports and airlines to keep the prices down for everyone else. This is really the same as the Express Lanes that are popping up on freeways all over the State. People who would rather not wait in traffic pay extra through their toll transponder to be permitted to drive faster in the Express Lanes. California Legislators are in favor of that. How then, can they oppose CLEAR ??? That seems incredibly hypocritical to me!

China’s Ministry of Commerce (”MOFCOM”) issued an announcement on May 20, 2024, and decided to include Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security unit, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, and General Dynamics Land System on the list of unreliable entities. MOFCOM will take the following measures: prohibit the above-mentioned companies from engaging in import and export activities related to China; new investments in China; prohibiting the entry of senior managers of the above-mentioned enterprises; disapproving and canceling the work permit, stay, or residence qualifications of the senior managers of the above-mentioned enterprises in China. #China sanction https://lnkd.in/gngzs4G3

With the House Armed Services Committee highlighting its concern about capacity to support the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program in the FY25 NDAA the Chamber supports several bills and initiatives which would stimulate investment in much needed infrastructure upgrades at national space ranges and spaceports. ✔     The “Securing U.S. Leadership in Space Act of 2024” is bipartisan legislation introduced in both the Senate and the House that would allow spaceports to access private activity bonds (PABs) to attract private sources of capital to fund badly needed infrastructure projects. ✔      “The Spaceport Act” would reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration’s Space Transportation Infrastructure Matching (STIM) grant program to support construction and space transportation infrastructure projects nationwide.  ✔     The “Digital Spaceport of the Future” initiated by the Space Force and intended to ensure that the U.S. proactively adapts to the rapidly increasing demand and complex dynamics of space launches. To compete against a superior nation that has better technology is cost prohibitive, why then would we not want to up the cost imposition against our competitors by investing in missile defense (Balistic Missile Forces are their lower cost solutions to our superior Air Forces and Navy Forces). I hope there is sound reasoning and targeted areas the administration is seeing that others are not which these funding cuts are going to help offset. If not we are doing a disservice to our national defense.
