See also Environmental Sustainability Task Force in work experience. This is the citizen advocacy continuation of a Herculean effort and remarkable community we developed. My work focused on continual advocacy and messaging to key city stakeholders, from staff and council.

Originally part of a half million strong national network, we identify with the Indivisible model of every day citizen engagement in the legislative process. We are involved in education and advocacy from the city to national levels, on topics ranging from the environment, immigrant rights, women's rights, the rights of PoC and people of all religions, and freedom of the press.

We are involved in education and advocacy from the city to national levels, on topics ranging from the environment, immigrant rights, women's rights, the rights of PoC and people of all religions, and freedom of the press.

I am most proud of three things: the work I have done making thousands of members in our local group aware of and trained in issue advocacy, giving rise to long silent voices; the 1000+ person rallies weve hosted on immigration, family separation and protecting the Mueller investigation; and the work I have done supporting the rise of progressive candidates in our sister chapter in Athens, GA. 2018 was an amazing year for WIRE, proving our concept while helping dozens of women run successful campaigns. Our first time candidate success rate is much higher than average and I am most proud of our strong community of women (and our male allies) we have built.

2018 was an amazing year for WIRE, proving our concept while helping dozens of women run successful campaigns. Our first time candidate success rate is much higher than average and I am most proud of our strong community of women (and our male allies) we have built.

WIRE (Women Who Identify, Recruit and Elect) was founded to help women in Santa Clara and San Mateo County run for office and accept appointed political positions. We identify and educate women in our communities about why they should take political roles, help them identify the right roles, and help get them into office, with our powerful peer to peer network of experienced political operatives, campaign organizers, fundraisers and grassroots supporters.

As board member from the beginning, I have worked on "behind the scenes" issues ranging from organizational structure to website development (teaching myself Wix, for example) to strategic planning, and "on the front lines" as campaign strategist for many candidates, and events developer, including our highly successful candidate training workshop series.

With candidates, I focus on communications strategy, including messaging and appropriate outreach channels. Show less

The TechWomen program is run by the Department of State, and serves women in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, with the goal to power economic security by driving the entrepreneurial success of women. Women are selected to come to the US once a year, to work in host companies on short term assignments to help further professional goals; courses and networking are another part of the experience.

I serve in several capacities.

In 2016, I was a strategic impact mentor to the women of Sierra Leone, helping them through the process of writing an award winning plan for recycling education in the country. This plan is already being implemented in country: https://twitter.com/3RsForKids/status/854363150430478336/photo/1

In 2015, I traveled to Tunisia, and in 2017, to Kyrgyzstan, to mentor and teach women from middle school age on up, inspiring women to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and support each other. Training involved panels, TED talks, and one on one sessions.

In 2016 and 2017, I served on the application review committees for Tunisia and Pakistan, helping identify candidates for our cohorts.

Since 2015, I have served on the alumnae council, driving strategy to support the mentors and alumnae in the program.

In 2014, I served as cultural mentor to a mentee from Egypt, helping her understand life in Silicon Valley during her program here. Show less
