What are some innovative ways to engage stakeholders and encourage participation?
In working with challenging stakeholders, I have found that sometimes advocacy for their perspective can go a long way. For instance, I have led work groups where stakeholders said, "we tried to do this before, but no one listened..." As a leader and partner to these stakeholders, it's important to understand how to support stakeholder ideas and opinions, as well as navigating project deliverables. When you advocate for and share the vision with stakeholders, it can be a turnaround to getting project buy-in or support you need to get the project completed.

What are some effective strategies to keep your team engaged during training?
This may sound old-school but I have personally written notes of appreciation, support, and recognition to my teammates when going through training, onboarding, or leadership programming. And because most of my teams have been remote, I took the time to mail this to them. It's great to hear the genuine shock when they tell me they got it in the mail and how much it meant to them that I took the time to recognize the work they were doing. Sometimes, it's the little things that support learning.

How can you convince skeptical team members of the benefits of organizational change?
Building trust and rapport during organizational change can be challenging, especially if you are a new leader in the company who is initiating the change. I have been on the receiving end of this recently, and can honestly say that I have been the skeptical teammate. So, how did leadership build trust and rapport to make me less skeptical? Well, they sat down and had candid conversations. Asked me for my opinion and how my experience has been. Now, what did I do for myself to support the development of trust and rapport? I came with an open mind. Often during times of change, you need to stop listening to office chatter and other people's opinions, and instead draw your own conclusions about the change.

Caffeine Consumption and How It Influences Our Ability to Regulate Emotions
Abstract
This autobiographical case study evolved after reading The Developing Mind (2012) by Dr. Daniel Siegel. Because caffeine consumption is an accepted and encouraged practice in the US, it's often overlooked as a link between human interactions. In this paper, I consider how my intake of caffeine potentially affects my interactions with co-workers. Also, this paper takes a small peek at the chemical reactions of the brain as it reacts to caffeine.

Because everyone reacts to caffeine differently, this paper is not meant to diagnose or assume a reactive state across all populations. Rather, this paper highlights the under-reported association between caffeine consumption and the potential effects it has on how we interact with others while "under the influence". Further research is necessary to understand the effects caffeine has on the rest of the population and how that interacts with their emotional regulation. -
Neuroplasticity, Meditation and the Happiness Equilibrium
In this paper, I attempt to construct a base argument for the connection between neuroplasticity, meditation and the happiness equilibrium. Meaning that these three concepts interweave together to formulate a singular method to improve one’s happiness equilibrium or to simply increase the elasticity of one’s happiness equilibrium. Also, I offer a general platform for discussion about the capability for one to increase their own happiness equilibrium through the use of meditation and…
In this paper, I attempt to construct a base argument for the connection between neuroplasticity, meditation and the happiness equilibrium. Meaning that these three concepts interweave together to formulate a singular method to improve one’s happiness equilibrium or to simply increase the elasticity of one’s happiness equilibrium. Also, I offer a general platform for discussion about the capability for one to increase their own happiness equilibrium through the use of meditation and neuroplasticity. Throughout this paper, I outline the definitions of each of these concepts and interject personal experience within this topic. Although I understand that limitations based on individual psychological and sociological situations and experiences may exist, I offer a preliminary autobiographical case study to support my argument.

Due to finding limited or no shared virtual community resources dedicated to the behavioral sciences field, this article attempts to identify the most common benefits and disadvantages of communities of practice (CoP) and apply those concepts to the behavioral science community. Through various article and book reviews on the topic of CoP, as well as practical involvement in CoP, the author outlines recent research, observation and information related to corporate and academia-focused CoP.
This article is a starting point for additional research to be performed in the area of CoP. However, the author concludes that CoP would benefit the behavioral sciences fields, particularly in the field of human development. The author understands that this article provides a limited scope for the breadth of CoP as it pertains to various fields, including the limited research available for the behavioral sciences field.
