  • Presentation: Big Data, Recruiting & Predictive Analytics

    Big data, of course, is the latest buzz in the world of recruiting -- and many other disciplines. Companies like Google measure everything and use sophisticated analytics to refine their recruiting and hiring processes. But there’s a lot of hype as well. This presentation explores where the hype ends and the business value begins, especially for smaller employers, and employers who aren’t sitting on huge data repositories.

  • Presentation: Social Recruiting -- Putting The Social Back In Recruiting

    This built on my earlier social media presentation by helping MRA members understand how to turn employees and candidates themselves into proxy recruiters and tapping into their social networks. In addition to covering the "how tos," I shared the 4 conditions essential to success: 1) the size of your social networks, 2) the online face of your employer brand, 3) rethinking the idea of passive talent, and 4) delivering great candidate experience.

    I developed his presentation for MRA members because the only other speakers presenting this topic in 2009 were attorneys who were all about mitigating the risks rather than leveraging the benefits.
