How do you train and coach your internal stakeholders on analyst relations best practices?
There are two key internal stakeholders to engage as AR Champions: Executive team - Analysts want to hear from your C-suite, your CEO, your CMO, and your VP of sales/CRO. Be sure to media train your C-suite and bring them to an analyst briefing. Product leadership - This is the most often forgotten stakeholder for AR. For major product releases, including new functionality and architecture overhauls or the addition of new products, invite your head of product and in specific cases, your chief architect to join you in the AR briefings. This is catnip for the techie analysts, especially in Gartner: let the product leadership share the details on why your tech is differentiated and how it is an integral part of the enterprise architecture.

How do you train and coach your internal stakeholders on analyst relations best practices?
There are four key elements to consider in setting AR vision and goals: Who - Which analyst firms (Gartner/Forrester/IDC) have the most influence on buyers & investors for your tech? Why - Why are you briefing the analysts: To make them aware of your company/tech? To share cutting-edge projects with your customers to the analyst's research? How and What - How do the analysts think about your industry, your domain, and your tech and what do you want to share with them, so they have an expanded perspective? It's about sharing additional qualitative and quantitative information that will help the analysts see what you see, and feel what your customers feel so you have a shared understanding of the market, your company, and your tech.
