Here we review new sources of funding for early stage ventures in the context of well-established sources and introduce the first webinar to be hosted by the newly formed (LES USA & Canada) Emerging Enterprise Committee, whose mission is to serve as a source of education, resource sharing, and professional relationship development to enable the success of members engaged in new venture development of IP based companies.

    Each year on April 26th, chapters of the Licensing Executive Society within the United States and Canada other international LESI chapters around the world hold events under the umbrella of “LES Around The World (ATW)”. These events stem from the creation of World IP Day by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) which chose April 26th, the day on which the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970. This article summarizes the global activities of LESI Member Societies for 2012 ATW.

    This paper presents the Master in Biotechnology research to develop a kinetic chromagenic method for determining endotoxin levels in finished cellular products increasing sensitivity by over 100 X and allowing for limits that have greater ability to detect the presence of endotoxins and avoid the development of sepsis in patients.
