Modern Data Analytics in Excel - If you want to get the most out of Excel, you should buy this book. I have always been a huge fan of George Mount and his work, so I was honored when he asked me to review his newest book. This book is a must-own for anyone who wants to get the most out of analyzing data in Excel. The book covers ➡️ Tables: The portal to Modern Excel ➡️ Power Query: Data Cleansing and Transforming ➡️ Power Pivot: Data Modeling and Analysis ➡️ Dynamic Arrays: A key part of the Excel Data Analytics Toolkit ➡️ Python: Elevate your Excel Game with Python ➡️ Augmented Analytics and the Future of Excel I am glad he started with Excel Tables because if one wants to advance into Modern Excel, one must learn Tables.  He and I are of one mind on this subject: tables are the gateway to modern Excel. As George says in the book:   “Excel boasts an extensive array of analytical tools, which can make it challenging to determine the best starting point. However, a fundamental step is mastering the Excel table.” He starts with tables and then moves to Power Query, which, to me, is the next natural step as it shows you how to clean and transform your data.  From there, he delves into the world of Power Pivot.  For many people wanting to learn Power BI, Power Pivot is a natural starting place because it keeps you in Excel.  He then discusses Dynamic Arrays, Augment Analytics, and Python. If you are looking to familiarize yourself with modern Excel, this is a great book to start with.  The one thing I wish this book had was more content on each of these sections, but given that each of these sections could have been their own book, I recognize that is not practical. I cannot recommend his work enough as he and I have very similar views on Excel.  In fact, when Christian Wattig asked me to provide the Excel section for the new FP&A Certificate from Wharton Online and Wall Street Prep, the three sections I chose to cover included ➡️ Excel Tables ➡️ Power Query ➡️ Dynamic Arrays Let me know your thoughts on Modern Excel. If you have embraced It, what would you have included in a book on the subject? Finally, if you want to embrace Modern Excel, then go ahead and order George’s book today; after all, who does not love a book with a bug on the cover? 🤣 Note: I am not receiving any compensation for recommending George's book, but he was kind enough to send me a copy of the book.
