In our first season, we planted vegetables and herbs in three terrace gardens. Children learned how to cultivate soil, plant seeds, nurture their garden, and harvest crops. They also sold their vegetables and herbs at the local farmers market. Children learned to make healthy choices during lunch by making salads and delicious veggie burgers. We're adding three more terrace gardens this fall and teaching children how to grow vegetables in winter months.
