“I worked under Eric during an internship with Gannett Fleming. He was clear and concise with delivering my responsibilities and assignments. I was also taking classes at the time of my internship, and Eric exhibited tremendous flexibility in meshing my existing schedule with the project schedule. As a mentor, he always made himself available for questions, even going out of his way to show me physical examples of the parts involved in my project.”

three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analyses that can be used to assess the level of redundancy
in bridge pony systems was developed and used to study the performance of pony truss bridges. It was
found that when they are properly detailed and constructed, deck systems in pony-truss bridge can be
inherently redundant. To a lesser extent, it was also found that truss members in properly designed and
constructed bridges can also be redundant. -

City of Phoenix Bridge Inspection
- Present
Team leader for inspection work for City of Phoenix. Work included detailed field inspection of bridges and culverts owned by the City, as well as load rating of bridges and miscellaneous design work on these structures. The bridges included cast-in-place concrete slab, pretensioned I-girders and box beams and post-tensioned box girders and steel I-girders, box girders and trusses (mostly for pedestrian bridges). Locations comprised dry washes, rivers, canals, railroad and light rail crossings,…

Locations comprised dry washes, rivers, canals, railroad and light rail crossings, airport roads and taxiways, and some grade separated interchanges. In addition to field inspection, work included coordinating several different inspection teams and working with multiple agencies such as Valley Metro (light rail structures), Salt River Project (canals), ADOT and Phoenix Dept of Aviation (airport structures) as well sub-contractors for traffic control and access equipment.
