“I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Ed in an number of capacities and have seen him excel at any and every task set before him. During our undergraduate tenure, I served with Ed as a Co Captain of our college's lacrosse team. Ed set a high bar as a leader and willed others to follow. He understood what it took to succeed and constantly evaluated himself on game film in addition to an unwavering push for improvement on the field and in the gym. This leadership style and work ethic has found him continued success in the workplace. I've worked with Ed for a year at SPORTS195 where he's picked up and mastered many difficult concepts with ease. Ed has also been given the notable task of single-handedly managing a large international team - within his first year in the work-force - and has proven to be a very effective manager. Finally, what I would consider Ed's most notable attribute, is his persistent self-reflection and reach for improvement. Ed not only constantly seeks feedback, from those below, beside and above him, but he is receptive and consistently applies that feedback to himself and his work. Ed will continue to find success and create a noticeable, positive, impact in any environment or organization he enters. ”

This article describes Einhorn’s actions. It gives reasons the FSA imposed the punitive judgment based on the FSA’s statutory provisions and regulatory guide. The article analyzes the ethics of Einhorn’s actions and concludes the FSA imposed the large fine for two reasons: first, to show there exist laws by which the financial industry and its members must abide and second, to emphasize to and inform practitioners there also are expectations of a standard of ethics financial professionals must achieve. The emphasis on meeting a standard of ethics also bolsters flagging public confidence in regulators and the financial industry.
