A review compiled by Dr. Karine Tawagi, Dr. Mia Schmolze, Dr. Brandon Nguyen, Dr. Aaron Laviana, and Dr. Natalie Reizine explores the benefits of utilizing Poly (ADP [adenosine diphosphate]-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) in combination with other anti-cancer agents for the treatment of metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). According to these researchers, "The clinical challenge for practitioners is three-fold; 1) they must identify which patients have the optimal genomic profile predictive of benefit with the therapies currently available; 2) the strengths and weaknesses of these treatments must be weighed against the patient’s overall health; 3) these treatments must be offered in a way that minimize financial burden and toxicity for the patient."
