PRWeek's great 2024 Business Report highlights the key challenge facing our industry. Communications is more important than ever. Comms and policy leaders are being asked to play far larger roles as business partners supporting ever more stakeholders. So why did the industry suffer so much in 2023 after many years of growth? As an sector, we are not adapting fast enough to the needs. Organizations are desperate for help but also under tremendous financial strain. They now need both senior level counsel and advisory support as well as deep domain expertise to actually produce. By and large, our industry is still split by this chasm - between strategic and tactical. Clients cannot afford to separate these, either in time or money. More time to enjoy life’s golden years means women need to be extra savvy when it comes to retirement planning. Smart saving is key, along with being proactive and consistent — even small amounts add up over time.

A new survey out from Achieve this week addresses the "why" behind quarterly Fed data and looks at why credit card debt and delinquencies are on the rise. We surveyed 2,000 consumers with active accounts across the consumer debt categories the Fed also tracks: mortgages, student loans, credit cards, auto loans, and home equity lines of credit.   The top reasons cited by respondents for making delinquent payments included inflation (21%) and a reduction in work and income (20%). Another 11% simply forgot to pay at least one bill over the past six months. TransUnion’s report also points to inflationary pressure for the increased debt. #debt #debtresolution #delinquencies

Sharing a great read about how TD Securities is poised to accelerate its’ growth strategy one year after the acquisition of Cowen. The combination of TDS and Cowen will not only enable the firm to better serve existing clients but also win new mandates. But ultimately this all comes people and culture.
