Here's how you can handle conflicts that arise during a change initiative.
All of the above. Ask the 5 whys. Enable full communication. Elicit the reluctant voices. And then: Where possible the customer decides, whether internal or external. Ask them. Where even the customer is unsure, conduct low stakes experiments to the extent possible.

Your team member is struggling with a project. How can you give feedback that helps them succeed?
Ask: How can I help? Pretty simple. I like a 10-30-90 plan for a complex project plan. Spend the first 10% of your time on defining the problem and on optional solutions then check your options with your "customers" (or managers) and get feedback. The next 30 on the pro's and cons of several promising paths forward and a recommendation. Check this with customers. Finally create an outline and plan to execute, get final buy-in and go. It's also important to identify low risk experiments along the way that can provide insight into unknowns.

CCSC is a spectacular charter school success...State testing results far above average, 100% of seniors admitted to 4 year colleges, long waiting list, annual budget surpluses -- all with a student population that strongly represents all the diversity of Cambridge. Proud to be associated with them.
