Elevation Midstream, LLC (“Elevation”), an energy midstream gathering and processing company based in Denver, Colorado, announced a merger with Platte River Holdings (“Platte River”), a subsidiary of ARB Midstream, LLC (“ARB”). The combination positions Elevation for further growth in the Denver-Julesburg Basin with its increased scale and connectivity, three product service offering, broader customer #relationships, and strong balance sheet. Elevation offers three-product gathering, crude stabilization, gas compression and water logistics services, including tankless gathering options for customers who prioritize efficient emissions management. The Platte River assets include more than 200 miles of crude gathering and transmission pipelines and offer multi-market optionality to customers via the Platteville and Lucerne Terminals, including truck offloading. Producers are able to optimize their barrels through batching, blending and access to premium markets. The combination of Elevation and Platte River creates an ideal platform for organic growth and basin consolidation through targeted M&A via an expansive footprint, world class facilities, and a strong balance sheet. ‘Let’s Rock This Pipe!’ Following our post yesterday, Reese Energy Consulting is talking natural gas pipelines again for those whose heart’s race each time a new project is announced or pronounced “Go!” We share the same affliction. Now sealed with a FERC kiss, the 304-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline is officially blessed-stamped-authorized to begin service where it will deliver 2 BCFD of low-cost Appalachian gas to Mid- and South Atlantic markets. Ten years in the making at an estimated cost of $7.85 billion, final preparations to fire up operations on MVP are now in high gear to welcome aboard Marcellus and Utica gas from the nation’s largest natural gas basin. Producers were rumored to holler, “Let’s rock this pipe!” Back in the Permian, pipeline constraints and natural gas takeaway have producers sweating it out for a go-live date on the 580-mile, 2.5 BCFD capacity Matterhorn Express. Certain to fill up lickety-split, Matterhorn offers some much-needed relief to move record volumes of residual gas out of the basin. At least until the end of next year. While three other natgas pipeline projects are on midstreamers’ Permian to-do list, including Targa Resources’ Apex, Energy Transfer’s Warrior, and Kinder Morgan, Inc.’s expansion of its Natural Gas Pipeline of America system, a new cowboy in Perm Town has big plans for the next big gas pipe behind Matterhorn. Houston-based Moss Lake Partners (MLP) is hot on its NGL heels to build the 690-mile DeLa Express, which would move 2 BCFD of rich gas from West Texas to Gulf Coast fractionators and export terminals. The project would include access to MLP’s Hackberry, La., NGL export project. What do you think? Liesfeld Contractors’ OSHA Incident Rate for 2023 was 1.26, while the Industry Average for our NAICS Code was 1.50. The three-year average is 0.95, while the Industry Average is 1.80. Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is a significant tool for the construction industry to gauge the safety of contractors. Many projects and clients require contractors to be under a 1.0. Our 2022 published rate per our insurance company is 0.67. Our seven-year average sits at 0.71. Liesfeld's VDOT Safety Index Score is 296 out of a possible 300. 🚨 Industry Alert: GPA Midstream Calls for Withdrawal of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permitting Proposal 🚨 GPA Midstream has formally requested the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers withdraw its recent proposal concerning the permitting process for activities near historic properties. The proposed changes, which aim to amend the areas affected when issuing permits, lack transparency and sufficient detail for stakeholders to assess potential impacts effectively. Key Concerns: - No draft guidance from the Corps, despite the proposal's introduction in early February. - No environmental assessments or supplementary documents have been provided to evaluate the implications on the industry. - No defined scope of the historic preservation review, raising significant questions about the extent of regulatory jurisdiction. In response to these uncertainties, GPA Midstream urged the Corps at a public meeting on February 22 to reconsider this approach so that stakeholders can understand and provide informed feedback on the proposed rules. 🔗 We believe it’s crucial for industry professionals to stay informed and actively participate in discussions that impact our operations and compliance standards.
