“Danielle Schroeder first joined SWE as an eager, motivated Drexel engineering freshman looking to become involved. Now, less three years later, Danielle is one of the most highly competitive and competent collegiate SWE leaders in the country, with promise of developing her skill for organized leadership even further with the years to come. In 2013, Danielle first made the transition from active member to Drexel SWE officer, filling the role of Social Media Chair. This role, previously defined as one to monitor Drexel SWE social media accounts, contribute to online content, and track member interaction, quickly expanded under Danielle's influence. Her adept organizational skills made it possible for social media to contribute more productively by planning section events through these media accounts and paving the way for our current RSVP system. More impressively, this level of coordination had the effect of making the event planners more efficient and more engaged in advertisement, improving the overall attendance of each. Such awareness of all section events positioned Danielle to serve as a valuable Secretary in 2014. Again, Danielle exceeded the expectations of this role and improved the operation of the entire section by organizing information and membership via weekly update emails to more than 400 member contacts, helping to bring these emails to a more sophisticated and automated platform, tracking all of these events for simplistic reporting at the end of the fiscal year, and even developing and leading independent projects. In 2014, Danielle was additionally nominated and chosen as a SWE Future Leader by a national selection committee as one of 22 collegiates with extraordinary leadership ability. In this role, she has already participated in the SWE Collegiate Leadership Institute and served as interim Region E Collegiate Communications Editor, expanding her strong influence outside of the Drexel SWE Section. As she moves forward as Drexel SWE 2015 Vice President, I recommend Danielle for any such position of leadership with the highest recommendation. ”

STAR Scholars Program: Potential Atmospheric Change Impacts on Vegetation installed in Green-infrastructure
The purpose of this research is to understand how plants installed in green infrastructure will react under soil moisture stress caused by atmospheric change. In order to quantify the plants’ transpiration and CO2 up-taking, the stomatal conductance is measured from the pores on the underside of leaves (stomata) where gas exchange in plants occurs.
