Austin City Council approved a nearly $23 million contract to build a new bridge across Lady Bird Lake near the Longhorn Dam. The now-approved construction contract is with Jay Reese Contractors, with a $20.7 million baseline amount along with an additional $2 million in contingencies. Who has experience building Live Work townhouses in the city of Houston? I've tried to engage the Houston Permitting department about building some but everyone seems to have little to no experience with them. Why are Live Work units important? In minority neighborhoods, the traditional strip mall center isn't a viable option. Bigger companies won't lease the spaces because they feel the incomes in the area don't meet their requirements. Smaller businesses in the area generally cannot afford to lease these expensive spaces. Our solution is provide small mixed use buildings that can be purchased with residential mortgages, making them more attainable for smaller businesses and adding the necessary and much needed retail development in the area to promote economic growth. So who has experience building these housing types and what guidance can you offer?
