    My wife and I have been providing financial support for this orphanage which rescues children of imprisoned parents in Guatemala for nearly 14 years. The orphanage was started by my mother-in-law almost 30 years ago.
    We have provided the funding and are reviewing the final plans for a surgical center to provide healthcare and surgical needs to the persons in this region of Antigua, Guatemala.

  • Preceptor for upper limb spasticity treatment training

    Dr. Lea has been selected as a preceptor to train physicians, nationally and internationally, in management of focal upper limb spasticity caused by stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, brain injury and other neurological disorders. He is honored to take on this role in order to fight the condition of and spread the word about new treatments for spasticity in these and other patient populations.

  • Keynote speaker at the 2nd Rehabilitation Medicine Summit Forum in Beijing, China

    China Medical Foundation/ Authorized and Lead by China Ministry of Health

    Over a three-day period provided lectures and training in the use of botulinum toxin for the treatment of spasticity injected under ultrasound guidance. Lectured on advances in spinal cord injury medicine in the U.S. to a group of approximately 2000 physician's from China, Thailand and Hong Kong.
    The conference was held at the Chinese PLA General Hospital between June 22 and 25th, a 4000 bed medical facility located in the heart of Beijing.
