ReadingPals is a United Way program where volunteers provide positive reinforcement and personal attention to a child (kindergarten through 3rd grade) who would benefit from a little extra reading support. We aim to not only improve children’s reading skills, but also impart a love of reading.
ReadingPals offers two opportunities to volunteer:
Choosing a one-hour time slot when it fits your schedule, working with different children every time as a ReadingPal Reader; or
Committing to regularly meet one hour a week with the same child as a
ReadingPal Tutor.
Both volunteer positions require a background screening and a two-hour orientation that prepared you to work with students.
