If LLMs are using copyrighted material to train their tools, and we become unable to decipher what is real and what is not, what will be the mechanisms that these vendors take to address this important issue? If you can create GenAI based tools surely they can create an icon that signifies that something was created with AI. Your thoughts?

OpenAI appears to have adopted the adage: it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Copyright issues have plagued the #AI pioneers since day one. Now, they’re providing content owners with the ability to include or exclude their work from the company’s development. While OpenAI’s tools’ progression may slow down, they have already been trained using others’ work. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, but I can’t help wondering, is this effort just too little too late? #transformation

She previously held #leadership roles at IBM, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Capgemini, and is an award-winning author and keynote speaker on AI and human/machine collaboration. Based on our conversation, my upshot is to approach #AI with a blend of curiosity and cautious optimism. As discussed in our podcast, organizations that establish an "inspiration phase," aka clear guiding principles and usage protocols, and prioritize education will better leverage AI as a powerful tool to enrich their organization, products, and people. I know I'm stepping up my AI literacy, experimenting, and defining my own personal usage.
