Alonzo King LINES Ballet is comprised of an internationally renowned contemporary ballet company, three education programs that serve pre-professional dancers, and a dance center that provides adult drop-in classes for all levels. The LINES Ballet mission is to nurture dynamic artistry and the development of authentic creative expression in dance, through collaboration, performance, and education.

We accomplish our mission by:

1. Supporting visionary choreographer Alonzo King in creating works of illuminating beauty and sharing them with audiences around the world.

2. Cultivating the gifts of developing dancers through our educational programs.

3. Providing 80-100 classes per week for the community at the Dance Center.

4. Offering outreach activities to a variety of communities, both locally and nationally. Show less

Feed The Hunger Foundation supports small food entrepreneurs in growing healthy, equitable, and sustainable food systems. We use a three-tiered approach: business development, connections with on-the-ground resources, and microfinance.

As a board member, I provide strategic counsel regarding the implementation of small business loans and business education programs for farmers and food entrepreneurs. Moving from a foundation to Community Development Finance Institution.

The mission of the Elementary Institute of Science is to nurture the intellectual curiosity of San Diego’s students by providing hands-on learning experiences to further their understanding of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

As a board member, I focused on fundraising, grants, board governance Including $6M capital campaign for new facilities and to expand the number of children served in San Diego.

The Recreation and Park Department is governed by a seven-member Commission appointed by the Mayor to four-year terms. In accordance with the Charter, the Recreation and Park Commission is primarily a policy-making body, establishing the policies by which the Recreation and Park Department operates.
