#ICYMI We published our award winning 8th annual State of B2B Content Consumption and Demand Report. 📝 In this piece, Jon Steiert details 5️⃣ of the key highlights from this year's report, including: 1. Gated Content's Growth 🗝 Contrary to popular belief, demand for gated content rose by 14.3% YOY, affirming its critical role in capturing first-party intent signals. Since 2019, this demand has surged by 77%. 2. Balanced Content Strategy ⚖ Effective engagement isn’t about gating - rather, it's about striking a balance between gated and ungated content to cater to various stages of the buyer’s journey. 3. Investment Intentions 💰 Despite economic uncertainties, 35.2% of B2B buyers anticipate making purchase decisions within the next 12 months, a significant increase from previous years. 4. The Consumption Gap 🌌 Notably, the time between requesting and consuming content (The Consumption Gap) has widened to 31.2 hours, emphasizing the need for patience in follow-up strategies. 5. Rising Interest in AI & eBook Dominance 🤖 Interest in AI-related content has exploded more than 5.5x from 2022, while eBooks remain the most preferred content format, accounting for 39.5% of all content demand. The NRF is expecting $33.5B to be spent for Mother’s Day this year. Last year we tracked over $88.4M in ad spend the week leading up to Mother’s Day and I wanted to share a couple interesting insights to hopefully help guide your strategy. Week over Week in 2023 (including the holiday) - Spend only increased 2% while AOV increased 6% - CPA increased 6% as well offsetting ROAS at a 0.14% overall increase Week over Week in 2023 (excluding the holiday) - Spend increased 2% while AOV increased 7% - CPA only increased 4.6% giving ROAS a 2.4% increase Not monumental changes either way, but the interesting piece is the need to spend up until the holiday and pull back directly on Mother’s Day. I’ve added a breakdown of some metrics across specific industries in the image as well. It’s always helpful to benchmark how your brand is doing vs peers, knowing each industry, brand, AOV tier, and other factors are going to create some nuances for your brand. Alisha Lyndon published this great article in Forbes earlier this year. Do the predictions hold up? Yes! From the conversations and research we've done at Enlyft, B2B organizations are putting increasing focus on 'ABM.' But we're also finding that many GTM teams still struggle to predict right accounts to focus on that truly match their ICP (and not just a firmographic cut). In some cases, building out AI-based predictive models is the answer. For others, it's leveraging unique data to enhance their current modeling and scoring efforts.
