Over the winter term I had the privilege of working with Angelo Gelfuso, Emily Mack, and Spencer Reynolds on the Walt Disney Service Marketing Project. Our group was specifically assigned to quick service foods and the task was to run an audit to discover what Disney's standards are for their cast members in there respective positions. My role was team leader before we arrived in Florida. I put in the hours, dedication, and hard work ethic to create the scheduling and plans for how we were going to collect all of the necessary data. This meant being on the phone with Disney cast members, deducing Disney's definition of "quick service", choosing locations in each park that fit to Disney's identified different types of quick service foods (aka cafeterias, food stands, food trucks, etc.), mapping out the best possible route for each park to be efficient in collecting data, and lastly making sure that everything fell into place with our scheduled activities so that we could make the most of the time we had at the parks. While in Florida, I asked by both of my professors to represent our trip on Miami University social media and was in charge of the university's Instagram account for a day. I was honored to have this opportunity and used my expertise in social media, marketing, and PR to have 5000+ views from current students and alumni. While in the parks my team mates and I also initiated conversations with cast members to gain access to the food and beverage department's training standards and make connections for future groups to take this course.
