In a world where most professionals are in a hybrid work environment, face time with leadership is critical to engagement and alignment. Look to maximize in-the-office days with F2F collaborative meetings with senior leaders that go beyond presentations, and utilize internal leadership videos to bring some much-needed humanity to remote communications.

How does word-of-mouth influence consumer decision making?
Social media marketing has overtaken WOM in the past decade, but word-of-mouth marketing is about to make a big comeback as consumers seek refuge from the "dark forest" of the open web where bots, influencers, advertisers and misinformation run rampant into the "cozy web" of closed/trusted digital communities and private messaging. This trend will accelerate as AI-generated content further erodes trust in the open web. Turning customers into advocates through WOM is the only way for brands to participate in the cozy web and should be a top priority for marketers and communicators.

Active social listening Are your customers posting about their experience with your products and services? Let them know you appreciate them! This is especially true for hospitality businesses, where you can combine social listening with surprise and delight to create memorable guest experiences. But all brands should look at how they use social media community management, so often an afterthought, to build more personal, empathetic relationships with customers.
