“A Phase 2 Randomised Clinical Trial Assessing the Tolerability of Whole Plant Extracts of Cannabis in Cancer“ • investigational product consisted of two standardised and quality-assured specially formulated oil-based organic WHOLE PLANT EXTRACTS of CANNABIS based on : 1:1  THC 4.6mg/ml:CBD 4.8mg/ml  4:1  THC 15mg/ml:CBD 3.8mg/ml • from baseline to week 12 found that the 1:1 ratio favoured both physical (p=0.025) and functional (p=0.014) capacity and improved sleep (p=0.009). •  Analysis of changes from baseline to week 12 also found ; 11% of 61 participants had a reduction in disease  34% were stable  16% had slight enhancement  10% had progressive disease • No serious adverse events occurred. Side effects included dry mouth, tiredness at night, dizziness, drowsiness • study demonstrated that a single nightly dose of THC-containing medicinal cannabis was safe, had no serious adverse effects and was well tolerated in patients. Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome and Cannabinoid Hyperemesis are as real as cannabis testing fraud. How do they impact each other? . . . There are extensive examples of cannabinoid hyperemesis from consumers that grew their own and still got sick. CHS exists outside of pesticide poisoning. The conditions are NOT the same. However, what if a patient has BOTH? The most severe cases, where multi system organ failure and deaths occcur, need toxicology for commercial growing agents. What tools do clinicians have for differential diagnosis? Emetic disorders and/ or pesticide poisoning? [If your hospital system has lab panels for cannabis pesticides send me a message please!] What is the severity of disease with isolated CVS or CHS in a patient that ALSO has toxicity from commercial pesticides? It’s very common for CVS patients to consume cannabis to treat CVS. Amongst this sub population, are medical cannabis consumers that are limited in product choices. With specific brands of cannabis increasing symptoms, and others providing relief… I have to question the growing agents used commercially. This post is NOT to entertain the theory that CHS = pesticide poisoning. This is about how pesticide toxicity could further impact a CHS and CVS patients journey. And the lack of tools clinicians have to navigate such complex cases. With such limitations of the testing industry…It is not sufficient to pull the COAs from products consumed to evaluate if there has been exposure. Actual labs need to be drawn from the patient. Would love to hear from you!!!] Ultimately, I am curious if toxicology panels for commercial growing agents are created… will we catch testing fraud when patients come into hospital sick as can be with positive labs? 🤔 Thank you to the patients for sharing and educating the public so far! Now that we have the new proposed text for the Farm Bill, the bifurcation of hemp interests me. Thanks for the break down Michelle Bodian. HEMP GROWN FOR CANNABINOID EXTRACTION.—The term ‘hemp grown for cannabinoid extraction’ means any hemp grown for purposes of extracting cannabinoids intended for human or animal consumption, inhalation, or topical use INDUSTRIAL HEMP.—The term ‘industrial hemp’ means hemp— (A) grown for the use of the stalk of the plant, fiber produced from such a stalk, or any other non-cannabinoid derivative, mixture, preparation, or manufacture of such a stalk; ‘‘(B) grown for the use of the whole grain, oil, cake, nut, hull, or any other non- cannabinoid compound, derivative, mixture, preparation, or manufacture of the seeds of such plant; ‘‘(C) that is an immature hemp plant intended for human consumption ‘‘(D) that is a plant that does not enter the stream of commerce and is intended to support hemp research at an institution of higher education (as defined in section 101 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 1001)) or an independent research institute; or ‘‘(E) grown for the use of a viable seed of the plant produced solely for the production or manufacture of any material described in subparagraphs (A) through (D). Conventional wisdom may label the #cannabisbeverage sector as a passing fad due to its small market share. However, entrepreneurial insight suggests that #Cannabis #beverages will emerge as a dominant sector among cannabis products in the near future. The true perspective lies not in pessimism or optimism but in a deeper understanding of evolving markets and the factual data that is becoming apparent. The fact of the matter is that recreational dispensaries and the distribution model within these recreational cannabis states are not set up for the proper delivery and handling of cannabis beverages. With the segue of the hemp market allowing cannabis beverages to sit alongside alcohol, the acceptance/embracement of the players in that industry, and the availability for cannabis beverage brands to position themselves on a national level and create this footprint ahead of federal legalization, is monumental. #HempIndustry #CBDIndustry #cannabinoid labs, you need to be talking to the Senate Agriculture Committee NOW so that naturally derived cannabinoids are not thrown in with #D8 bans. 1.Call them at 202-224-2035. 2. Ask to schedule a phone (or in person if you can) appointment with a Legislative Aid or Director. Do not let them pass you off on an intern! 3. Make sure your comments are professional, well organized, and fact based. 4. Include patient testimonies, with pictures, names and stories. 5. Have a single sheet of prepared statements, facts, and summarized patient stories, with a specific ask (eg. keep CBD legal), that you can give or email the staffer. 6. Get the staffer’s email address and stay in touch with that staffer. Send them new patient stories on a regular basis, and just keep the connection and your point alive in that staffer's mind. If you can’t get an appointment, ask for the name and email of the legislative aid assigned to hemp. Now call your Senator and Congressman’s office and ask to speak to their legislative aid in charge of agriculture, and do this entire process with them as well.

And with acres down 95% since 2019 and most using foreign CBD, how is it that U.S. farmers benefit? While “hemp” delta-x vape pens sold in gas stations might just be the thing that gets marijuana legal, it is creating an existential crisis for the real hemp (grain/fiber) side. Not even in our darkest, most prohibitionistic paraquat years like the Reagan ‘80s did people want isomerized (synthesized) THC. We knew it could be done, but why? Weed is grown in almost every county in the nation, just find a better plug. It's as much hemp as a synthetic digoxin pill is a foxglove plant, but "it is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." The DEA's recent decision to reschedule cannabis is a promising development for the industry. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We must remain realistic and wait for public opinion and the actual recommendation decision before we fully celebrate. While this decision will have vast implications for the current state systems, we must acknowledge that there is still more work to be done. And let’s not forget, there are still people imprisoned for cannabis offenses. It's crucial that we prioritize reforming or even eliminating the system to ensure justice is served, particularly for those unjustly incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses.
