  • Believe You Can Leave: A Spontaneous Travel Inspiration Journal

    Birkdesign Inc.

I conceptualize and wrote this book based on my entrepreneurial journey that led me to the brink of burnout. I realized that if I could just get up and leave and travel and look up for my desk and see the world in other ways while also maintaining my business, it would protect me against emotional mental and physical failure. It worked! As a result of my transformation journey, I decided I wanted to share what I learned with others by putting this journal together to help guide other people and…

I conceptualize and wrote this book based on my entrepreneurial journey that led me to the brink of burnout. I realized that if I could just get up and leave and travel and look up for my desk and see the world in other ways while also maintaining my business, it would protect me against emotional mental and physical failure. It worked! As a result of my transformation journey, I decided I wanted to share what I learned with others by putting this journal together to help guide other people and their average to envision a new way of experiencing work as an entrepreneur.

My Spontaneous Travel Inspiration Journal is filled with reminders and inspiration to kick start your visualization process so that you can get up and go someplace and experience the joy of traveling to a foreign country. Included inside this widely-lined journal are blank pages for your thoughts and maybe even your own drawings. I hope my inspiration journal, specifically designed for the curious and want-to-be-traveler, will kick start your visualization process to help you lift yourself up, rediscover your imagination and then buy a plane ticket so you can travel somewhere safe and perhaps a bit unknown.

  • Change-Maker Village

    Once Upon a Blume, LLC

My role was to pitch to the author, Mel, to control her own publishing company. Mel already had books that she self-published. I saw an opportunity to train her on how she could start her own publishing company so that her books could be more well regarded but also be eligible to be in the library of Congress. So I helped Mel establish and launch her first publishing company to produce the book changemaker village. In addition to that, the book is about diversity equity inclusion as well as…

In addition to that, the book is about diversity equity inclusion as well as ideas on how to help children Recognize racism.

I became a cultural editor for Mel because the story that she envisioned with my help was about a little Jewish girl and a little black girl grew up in a similar environment, but on different streets. So I as an art Director was able to help her, and teach her how to hire an artist to produce her work how to also ensure that the artist she did hire understood her rights to her work, so I helped understand how to negotiate with an artist to protect her own actual property as she hires an artist. I also worked with the artist to help her understand how to communicate black characters, properly.

Created by a diverse, all-female team of Disney alumni, and a Forbes-celebrated Culture Editor, Change-Maker Village is an anti-racist children's book that was released on Apple Books November 2, 2020. The book takes readers of all ages on an emotional journey when two nine-year-old best friends, Mandisa, who is Black, and Rose, who is white, encounter racism for the first time. After this experience, and a powerful talk between the two, they make a pact to create and inspire change in their community. They host an event called "Change-Maker Village,” a day that encourages reading, donating, learning and listening. The girls perform Mandisa’s original song that day. The song “400 Years (remix)” co written by JinJa Davis of the band Utah Carol, can be downloaded on Apple Music and streamed on Spotify.
