Brendan Gramer, Sr. UX Designer, received the Relentless Forward Progress award for his advocacy work. Since 2015, Brendan has relentlessly pushed for captioning across the variety of video platforms used by employees at Amazons. He partnered with the Accommodations team to bring CART to All Hands meetings and successfully influenced the Broadcast team to fast track captioning. When captioning launched on Broadcast, Brendan led a campaign to get Amazonians to add captions to videos through email campaigns and phone tool icon incentives. He designed the ASL and braille logos, launched an ASL coffee hour, and spearheaded Amazon’s support for Deaf Thrive Day in Seattle. He was a founding member of the AmazonPWD Affinity Group in 2015, and he currently serves as the President of the Board. Brendan’s advocacy has an immeasurable impact for Amazonians everywhere.
