Seeking Cincinnati specific brands to make exciting stuff with. Recently, I shot three fashion spots for Josh Jacob’s new watch brand “FAUX WRIST.” This was exciting for three reasons: 1) I got to partner with one of my favorite Cincy-based creatives nd friends. Josh obviously does incredible work with Durham, but he and I click on many levels as artists striving to make great art with the neighbors and resources we are given. 2) His watch designs are killer. I’ve only recently began a new obsession with “timepieces” (not watches, timepieces.) Josh has educated me and walked me along his process of designing and building custom workhorse timepieces for people. 3) Josh trusted me with a vision. Capturing a trilogy of different aesthetics for the watch. Putting the pieces into different settings with different models. Whether on a tennis court, in a tunnel, or on top of a downtown parking garage. I wanted to give different flavors to show just how accessible this brand is for the everyday creator. Despite worries that Pixar brand was damaged by straight to Disney + titles, polarizing messaging and theatrical’s slow summer start, Pixar has their second biggest opening all time behind The Incredibles 2 What tactics propelled this massive win? We at EDO measured and marveled at a campaign that built optimized and expanded at every critical phase The Disney marketing machine excelled with their long length story spots that reignited Nostalgia for the first film’s concept for families The result of getting the family audience job done early was they were able to kick into a high gear opening week using 15 reviews spots as well as villain conflict story spots to bring onboard general audiences that enabled huge walk up business Friday So if you are looking for a little joy, catch this gem of a film that mixes humor, emotion and an ultra intelligent look at what determines sense of self

Venting + asking for opinions on how others manage this: The WFH life where your day is blocked into 30 min meetings — and it’s 5/6pm and you haven’t really worked on anything, you’ve just talked about the work you’re going to do… is not it. I’m debating blocking off my calendar to have no calls before 11:30am — No exceptions. No calendar invites on my calendar before 11:30am, so I can have the first ~4.5hours of my day to actually work and think with substance — not 5 min bathroom break thoughts — and not 7-9pm work life balance. Technology and “always on” has created a lack of patience. Having a sense of urgency is positive, but if it leads to poor or un-creative performance, while moving fast, it’s a detriment long term. I also put blame on myself that I could make meetings faster, quicker, and less fluff, however my personality is rooted in a sense of ease, and I genuinely love asking questions and learning — 15-20min is the least I think I could do 😩😂 How do you guys handle the blocking off of schedules for YOURSELF and your own time to think critical and creative thoughts, external vs internal meetings, your own work, etc?

As I complete my final project, I am in need of one last round of data to understand how artists perceive the challenge of maintaining basic needs while working to actualization their creative endeavors. Music AI service Udio can be prompted to duplicate the music catalog of specific artists - including important legacy artists. I made this in 5 minutes (including artwork) and it completely replicates the individual members of Funkadelic - Bernie Worrell on keys, Eddie Hazel on guitar, Billy Bass Nelson on bass, Tiki Fullwood on drums, and all of the Parliament-Funkadelic vocalists (P-Funk). If you know P-Funk, you know this "AI-Clone" is too scarily close to the original artist with improvisation that mimics the style of the individual group players.
