    The local chapter of a national organization that represents approximately 200,000 African American nurses from the USA, Canada, Eastern Caribbean and Africa, with 115 chartered chapters nationwide. The associations mission is to provide a forum for collective action by African American nurses to represent and provide a forum for black nurses to advocate for and implement strategies to ensure access to the highest quality of healthcare for persons of color.

    Founding member. Gained experience in leadership by organizing the participation of club members in community events. The Black Barbershop Healthcare Outreach Event provided diabetic and blood pressure screenings at a local barbershop. Hosted a fundraiser for a local nursing student involved in car accident and resulted in the premature birth of her child that left her partially paralyzed.
