Throughout my career there have been many who have mentored, shared their career experiences and simply cared. I'm grateful and remember it all. It's one of the reasons I give back and mentor. Build a network of people you can trust to give you honest feedback, celebrate with you and encourage you when you have the most difficult times. When my father passed, it was difficult. It was my faith, family, network and love of mentoring that got me through. I believe we are blessed to be a blessing...pay it forward. You're faced with tough decisions impacting your organization. How do you manage the emotional toll?
One thing I have learned is to know when to pause, take a break and recharge. We all want to do a great job and care about making a business impact. When you have done your best, it's enough. Where there are gaps, it's ok to acknowledge and seek support . One thing I remember Jack Welch saying early in my career is, "The one thing that is constant, is change." That quote has stayed with me, and allowed me to embrace change. My faith also helps me to stay centered. When things are difficult, it's been the times I've learned the most.

This book has been helpful whenever I was in transistion or coaching someone else. A lot of great content...especially the chapters on 5 Point Agenda and 60 second sell. Take time to reflect on your accomplishments, be able to clearly articulate why you, know your most marketable skills, key learnings on your journey, and the value you will bring.
