Responsibilities include management of all communication and public relations needs for the yearly Great 100 Nurses event, event management, fundraising, maintaining the organization’s social media sites and coordinating website updates. Most recently was involved in heading the re-branding efforts of the organization and developing a communications plan that included strategies for increasing community interest in the Great 100 mission.

In the role of President, I am involved in collaborating with the board to create a strategic plan and vision that is focused on the future growth of the organization. Show less

In this role, I work with the Nursing Practice Standards Committee to help create the ANA Nursing Practice Standards Publication and also help to review nursing specialty standards presented to us from national specialty organizations.

Worked with the National League of Nursing to help create the Accelerating to Practice program that will focus on improving the transition of new nurses from education to practice. Collaborated with nurses from
hospitals across the United States to define the competencies new nurses need to be successful on
the job.

Served as webmaster for the Texas Action Coalition website. Responsibilities included
development and maintenance of the site, as well as developing and editing content featured on
the website blog.
