You’re in a negotiation with your team. What are the benefits of having a good relationship?
A strong relationship with your team results in the team's collaboration against the problem/topic at hand versus each other. A strong relationship allows each member to contribute utilizing their unique strengths and problem solving abilities, which yields three major results: 1. the problem gets solved faster 2. team members get to shine in their areas of expertise 3. team members who have areas of opportunities are able to organically collaborate with team members who may have alternative strong suits. Lastly, each problem becomes a team-building passion project as opposed to another mundane task that just has to get done.

How can you prioritize deadlines and maintain client relationships?
In my experience, transparency is key. Clients are human as well and if you are honest about external factors, they tend to be compassionate. The ultimate goal is a win-win solution as that will yield continued partnerships and strategic growth. Honest communication will also help maintain a trustworthy relationship which always, in my experience, contributes to successful synergies.
