    Se trata de un trabajo de investigación, desarrollado a lo largo de un año, que ha sido dirigido por Francisco Rey Marcos en colaboración con Ana Urgoiti, Alberto Begué y Camille Nussbaum.

    El proyecto ha sido posible gracias a una ayuda de investigación concedida en el año 2007 por el Centro de Estudios de América Latina y la Cooperación Internacional (CEALCI), de la Fundación Carolina, a quien el IECAH agradece muy sinceramente el apoyo recibido en el desarrollo de esta tarea.

    El objetivo principal del proyecto era analizar el tema de la calidad de la ayuda en profundidad, cuestión de creciente interés en el ámbito humanitario, y proponer algunas iniciativas para el caso español. El informe se estructura del siguiente modo: tras una introducción que contextualiza y sitúa el problema de la calidad en el ámbito humanitario, analizando su evolución histórica, el segundo capítulo trata de profundizar en la cuestión de la calidad en general, incidiendo en cómo se ha convertido en un referente en muchos sectores. El tercer capítulo analiza los debates sobre calidad en la cooperación para el desarrollo como marco general en el que debe insertarse la calidad humanitaria. El cuarto capítulo, núcleo central del estudio, hace un repaso de las diversas iniciativas internacionales al respecto deteniéndose en sus logros, consecuciones prácticas y estado actual de sus propuestas. El quinto capítulo se centra en el caso español y en las dificultades y frenos que están haciendo que resulte complicado llevar adelante el compromiso con la calidad, incluyendo al final algunas conclusiones y propuestas de actuación.
