    I led the founding of Caetra.io within my firm, Harris Beach, as a way to automate the delivery of services that are often performed by lawyers in the areas of data privacy and cybersecurity. I believe that the hourly model is often a barrier to engaging with clients and that clients are increasingly seeking to work in more of a self-help environment provided they have a path back to their attorney when they need consultative help. To test this belief, we built a product called CyMetric as part of Caetra.io. CyMetric defines cybersecurity regulatory compliance objectives in terms of standard cybersecurity controls and helps organizations or their security vendors assess and accelerate their progress towards those defined objectives. It is implemented to encourage risk assessments and allow for strategic, and compliance driven cybersecurity. We monitor the legal terrain and update the recommendations continuously and users have the option to accept or reject these recommendations as part of their security program. What is great about the concept is that organizations only need to focus on doing measurable controls and we take care of expressing how those controls support the CSF, HIPPA, GDPR, CMMC, DFARS/NIST 171 or any other framework which might be on interest since they all use the same controls.
