Prevent card counting by learning the basics  (detailed calculations shared in part 5) How does card counting work in Blackjack? Part 3 Calculate A “True Count” Or Count Per Deck In an attempt to thwart card counters,  casinos began using multiple decks. How do players use a running count in a multiple-deck game? Simple. They translate the information into a “True Count”.   Let me break it down below. Having a +5 running count with 7 decks remaining is completely different from a +5 running count with only 4 decks remaining. In the first instance, the true count is still low and the player might not have the advantage yet. So the 1st big lesson is: It’s not just the number of extra high cards that matters to a card counter; it’s the concentration of high cards compared to the concentration of low cards. Thus, the true count helps players to vary their playing strategy. And so the 2nd big lesson is:  Card counting basics + Excel calculator = advantage You're close to learning all the basics that players use to abuse your casino.
