Hi Friends. I pleased to share that at the ASA & AFRA Conference I'll be presenting in two workshops. Here's their descriptions: LIMITED DISASSEMBLY OPERATIONS:  This workshop will look at the growing practice of disassembling smaller assemblies (meaning you're not disassembling an entire aircraft or engine) to be harvested for parts. The workshop will examine the 'Whys' and 'Hows' as well as best-practice suggestions and a discussion of trace. ESD PROTECTION AND PRACTICES Whether you are a Distributor or Disassembler, this workshop will cover theory with a focus on the practical application of ESD protection and handling and draw from the ASA and Draft AFRA ESD Best practice documents.

Another brand to talk about is Dana Air - From Grace to Grass. Dana Airlines, commonly known as Dana Air, is a Nigerian airline headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos State. They operated a fleet that includes McDonnell Douglas MD-83 and Boeing 737 aircraft, which are well-suited for short to medium-haul routes. They commenced operations in November 2008 with a mission to provide affordable and reliable air travel within Nigeria. Their primary destinations included major Nigerian cities such as Abuja, Lagos Port Harcourt, Owerri and Enugu. The airline had become a significant player in the Nigerian aviation industry, offering pocket friendly flight tickets, on-time departures and excellent customer service delivery. This brand was one of the best domestic airlines in Nigeria. They had challenges just like every other businesses. Irrespective of all the challenges, God still blessed this brand with very loyal employees. What did the employees get in return? Injustice. Just to mention a few: After covid-19 in 2020 Dana cruel treatment of her staff deepened. ❌The pension reform act as signed into law in 2014 states a contributory pension scheme by both employees and employers. Dana left no stone unturned in deducting the employees salaries in the name of pension but never remit the same to the employees RSA. Whenever the staff wants to react, they'll go and remit the deductions of that month, immediately operation resumes, subsequent deductions are made to themselves once again. Dana deducts their staff pension and remit same to themselves. Which is against the pension reform act (PRA) 2014. This same practice goes for tax and several other entitlements. ❌ After covid-19 lockdown was lifted, some staff were not called back to work and their job were terminated without their entitlements. ❌In June 2021, some staff were ask to embark on leave without pay due to financial constraints with the assurance that they'll be called back, but that never happened, instead they were made to sign termination letters and have their IDs and other Dana properties returned. But in September same year new recruits were hired. ❌In April 2023, the entire Enugu staff were disengaged abruptly without their salaries in lieu and without their entitlement as well. ❌Now in April 2024, Dana air entire workforce is being laid off without salaries in lieu and without entitlements. Dana air have made these deductions for over 10years without remittance. How do you disengage your employees without planning to pay what you owe them? Planning to rob your employees of their earning and shutting down your operations in Nigeria is a crime to humanity. You have always had a way of maneavering your way with illigalities and injustice. This brand cannot runaway from Nigeria without refunding passenger tickets. #linkedInfam injustice for one is injustice for all. Scheduling changes can leave crews in untenable situations, exacerbating staff shortages as air travel demand doubles by 2041. Outlook & what might be next in BIZAV Entry Level Jets: With the lowest #profit margins, it seems unlikely that any significant investment would be made in new products beyond #upgrades. Embraer subsequently announced the latest version with the Phenom 100EX which offers #cockpit & cabin upgrades over to the 100EV. Light jets: New investments could be made within the category beyond periodic product upgrades. This was certainly the case at Cessna Aircraft Company which announced the Citation CJ3 Gen2 & introduced the 2,100nm, nine-seat Citation Ascend. The big surprise came from Honda which revealed its intention to enter the #LightJet market with the 2,625nm HondaJet Echelon. Mid-size jets: With only two currently in production, a product gap in the market exists for a 2,800-3,200nm-range jet offering an MTOW between 35,000- 40,000lbs, seating 9-10 passengers. BOMBARDIER exiting the segment when it stopped #Learjet production, created an opportunity for Pilatus Aircraft Ltd to launch a new product (though Embraer may also be tempted to capitalise). Currently, that Mid-Size #Jet product gap remains unanswered. Super mid-size: Cessna’s Citation Longitude & Embraer’s Praetor 600 fulfill this segment. However, the Praetor 600 offers 15% more range. The market seems ripe for Gulfstream Aerospace to announce a new model, possibly a shortened G400 platform in the 3,500- 3,900nm range, replacing the aging G280. Large jets: Gulfstream’s G500, Bombardier Challenger 650 with Dassault’s Falcon 900LX led this segment. In terms of potential #future activity, the market could provide a sweet spot for both Bombardier & Dassault Aviation who have, been providing upgrades to older #airframes in this segment. A future Global 4500 & Falcon 5X/ 4X could reinvigorate the category if one or both #jets were priced right & capable of 4,200- 4,750nm range. Although both manufacturers have other in-development models occupying their attention. Super large: Analysis shows that Dassault’s Falcon 7X & 8X led the group, however, the Gulfstream G600 & Global 6500 offer slightly more range than the Falcon’s. Busy with its 6X & 10X projects, an argument for #Dassault is to focus towards a relatively low-investment enlarged version of the Falcon 6X or a development of its aging Falcon 7X, strengthening its position within this #market. Ultra-long range: #analysis shows the Bombardier Global 7500 was certified & delivered, due to be joined by the Gulfstream G700, while Bombardier (Global 8000), Dassault (Falcon 10X) & #Gulfstream (G800) all had further offerings to be in the market by 2027. With the potential to have several strong players in the Ultra-Long-Range Jet segment in the next couple of years, the question becomes which is more valuable for #future developments – #range or #speed? Reflections on the Pilot Shortage Over the last few months, the major airlines' formerly frantic pace of pilot hiring seems to have eased somewhat. United recently paused its hiring due to aircraft delivery delays. American, Southwest and Delta have all indicated they will hire fewer pilots in 2024, although American has stated it will continue to need about 1,300 pilots per year for the foreseeable future (Maharishi, 2024). But what does this mean from a big-picture perspective? Are these occurrences mere anecdotes, or are they indicators of a significant change in pilot demand? I’ve been asked variations on this question many times over the last few months, and several people who are considered authorities on hiring and retention have opined that the demand for pilots is waning. https://lnkd.in/dbYferjm

Slice of the market Embraer Executive Aircraft, Inc. & Gulfstream Aerospace have garnered the largest #business #jet market share gains over the last 15 years. Embraer’s #market share rose from 2.2% in 2009 to 6.8% last year, marking the largest gain of all major business jet manufacturers. In addition, Embraer #ExecutiveJets accounted for 20% of business jet deliveries last year. Embraer's share of the business jet market went to 6.8% since 2009, due to its Phenom 300 #lightjet which gained a bigger slice. Gulfstream netted a rise of 2%, to 13.6% market share, over the 15-year period. Fleet share gains largely came at the expense of Hawker, which fell from 11.6% share in 2009 to 8% in 2023 as out-of-production midsize Hawker’s were retired. Among the largest manufacturers, Dassault Aviation has lagged with its niche product offering its focus on the ultra-large jets with the introduction of the Falcon 10X slated for 2027 & recent service entry of the 6X. First trip in Gulfstream’s G700. As more enter service the backlog of G700’s is starting to dwindle. But some are lucky to get in first, Avjet Global & its customer were revealed this week as having taken delivery of the first U.S.-registered Gulfstream G700 late last month. One of the first trips in the G700 was a long-range flight outside the U.S. It proved very capable, although one issue that did develop was a heating problem in the #cockpit, which will be fixed with a software update. The #noise level in the forward club seating area is 3 to 4 dB lower than in the G650, according to Avjet CEO Marc Foulkrod. The Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines rumble when they start but once started, they’re amazingly quiet. When taking off you barely hear the engines. The G700’s #pilots, who moved up from flying the G650, love the new #jet’s fly-by-wire active control side-sticks. They think it’s a great innovation, believing that Gulfstream Aerospace scored a big win with this advancement, being so intuitive & natural. “You need to have oversight of the process,” Foulkrod emphasised. “These are complicated, sophisticated machines; you’re not buying an interior with wings.” It’s essential to have people familiar with the process & all the constraints involved in business jet completions, he explained. The #aircraft seems to be a game changer, it works well, performs well, the cabin is amazing, & the new client raves on about it.
