Happy to inform you that the Commission has launched the public consultation in the context of the evaluation process of the Erasmus+ programme. In line with EU better regulation principles, the consultation will run for 12 weeks until 8 December 2023, and is available in all 24 EU languages. The public consultation will help the Commission to collect the views of citizens and organisations on Erasmus+, the EU’s flagship programme for education, training, youth and sport. It will gather information and views on the delivery and results of the novelties introduced in this generation of the programme. It will also provide useful insights on the delivery of inclusion measures, simplification progress, and seek input from citizens and stakeholders regarding programme’s resilience, societal contributions, and their suggestions on the future of Erasmus+. Why we are consulting Building on the call for evidence conducted in 2022, this public consultation will feed into the assessment of the Erasmus+ programme’s overall performance around five criteria (effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence, EU added-value). In parallel to this, the Commission will run other targeted consultations and data collection exercises such as surveys, interviews, and data analysis. The consultation can be accessed via: Erasmus+ 2021-27 interim evaluation & Erasmus+ 2014-20 final evaluation (europa.eu)

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UK, ENGLAND, GREAT BRITAIN. Some people and indeed all over the world, including well travelled, often confuse England, United Kingdom and Great Britain. England is a country just like South Africa and its capital is London just like Pretoria is the capital of South Africa . Great Britain is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as London. Those 3 countries are: 1. England, 2. Scotland 3. Wales. When you include Northern Ireland to these 3 countries, they become United Kingdom (Union of four nations) 1. England, 2. Scotland, 3. Wales, and 4. Northern Ireland. That is why it is referred to as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, London is its capital. Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals. Accordingly, the capital of Scotland is Edinburgh, Wales is Cardiff; Northern Ireland is Belfast. England is London. #KnowledgeIsPower

Yesterday, I had the honor of meeting with Minister Catherine Martin, a moment that not only highlighted the breadth of Ireland’s ambition but also solidified my belief in our nation’s bright future. Here are my key takeaways: 1. Ireland’s Creative Ambition: It’s exhilarating to see how far Ireland has come in establishing itself as a powerhouse in the creative sector. From film to technology, and music, our country is not just participating; we are leading. The government’s commitment to propelling this growth further is palpable. Minister Martin’s vision for Ireland as a dominant creative force is not just inspiring—it’s a blueprint for action. 2. A Commitment to Peace: In today’s complex global landscape, Ireland’s pro-peace stance is both honorable and brave. Our actions and unwavering commitment to promoting peace are not just statements but a reflection of our values and determination to make a positive impact. Minister Martin eloquently shared how Ireland actively participates in peace initiatives, showcasing our nation as a beacon of hope and a vocal advocate for harmony and understanding. This approach is both commendable and essential, demonstrating how action and advocacy can go hand in hand in championing peace during challenging times. Meeting Minister Martin reinforced my pride in being part of Ireland’s journey and my optimism for what lies ahead. Our path is marked by creativity, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to peace and harmony. Let’s embrace these opportunities and challenges alike, as we move forward, together. #Ireland #CreativeIreland #Peace #Innovation #FutureIsBright
