🌷 Daria’s Story 🌷 TW// Sexual Violence Daria had experienced sexual assault this last winter. As a mother of three young children, struggling with trauma kept her from being the parent she wanted to be. She visited with a sexual assault advocate at YWCA Clark County where she received resources for her own healing as well as for parenting. Daria felt like the advocate truly cared about her as a whole person. She felt empowered to connect to family resources to support herself and her children. Your $25 donation could provide services that empower survivors like Daria. Please give before June 30th at https://lnkd.in/gqKdRBpZ to double your impact thanks to a $15,000 matching gift. *names changed to protect survivors #EmpowerSurvivors #SpringCampaign #BelieveInSurvivors #EndSexualViolence #SurvivorStrength #StrengthInBelief #ywcacc #ywcaclarkcounty #clarkcounty #vancouverwa

🌷 Peter’s Story 🌷 TW// Sexual Violence At 53 years old, Peter still found himself struggling with an assault that happened 30 years ago. He figured he should “be over it” since it happened so long ago. After getting connected with YWCA Clark County, he realized there isn't a standard timeline when healing from trauma. Working with our advocates and therapist, Peter has more peace in his day to day and so much hope for the future. A $30 donation today could provide services that empower survivors like Peter.

Today, we reflect on the Stonewall Riots that took place on June 28th, 1969, where activists, led by trans women of color like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, stood up against injustice and sparked a revolution. This historic uprising became the foundation of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Their courage and resilience transformed the fight for equality, highlighting the importance of inclusion and the struggle for gender equity. Today, we stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community, advocating for justice, bodily autonomy, and the freedom for everyone to live their truth. On June 26th, we commemorate the historic legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States. This landmark decision affirmed that everyone deserves the right to marry who they choose. It was a monumental step towards equality and justice for the LGBTQ+ community. As we celebrate this day, we also recognize the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights and the importance of standing up for equality. We must continue to advocate for a world where everyone can live openly and authentically. #LoveWins #MarriageEquality #PrideMonth
