The mission is to relieve hunger, increase self-reliance and improve the quality of life for children and families throughout southwestern Arizona. Founded in 1978 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Yuma Community Food Bank focused on the need to feed hungry children within Yuma County. Twenty-Six years later, YCFB continues to create and enhance emergency and supplemental food programs that have an educational and a nutritional component geared to the youngest of our community.

Some much food gets thrown away needlessly as many do not understand this simple principle. Apeel has good information.
Expiration dates don’t necessarily mean the date by which your food is no longer good. In most cases, they are only the dates by which quality (taste, texture) can no longer be guaranteed. The best judge of whether or not your food is still good to eat? Your own judgment. Use common sense, nature’s gut check: 👀 Does it look ok? 👃 Does it smell ok? 👄 Does it taste ok? If the answer is yes to all three, you’re most likely in the clear.
