🎓✨Today for #NationalHigherEducationDay we are celebrating and highlighting the story of one of our YAP staff members Jonathan Amador who recently graduated. Check out his story below: "In 2018, while nearing graduation from CSUSB, I discovered YAP through CSUSB Career Center's Handshake while seeking more work experience in education. My journey began as a Student Advisor and led me to become a Site Coordinator for the after-school program at Sierra High School through YAP's Young Scholars Program. Starting as an AmeriCorps member in 2018, I transitioned from a Youth Engagement Specialist to an Academic Mentor Specialist, and by the summer of 2020, right as COVID hit, I stepped into the role of Site Coordinator. What I love most about YAP is the genuine effort and care to ensure the success of every individual we serve. Watching students get excited about graduating or passing a class brings me immense joy. Today, I'm proud to be graduating with a master's degree in History from California State University, Fullerton—the first in my immediate family to achieve this milestone. My love for history stems from understanding the profound impact of the past on our future. It's more than just dates; it's about the significance of time, place, and ideologies that shape our world. My goal has always been to help students navigate their path after high school, whether it's pursuing a career or furthering their education. Seeing students graduate, especially those who have struggled and persevered, is a favorite memory that happens year after year." -Jonathan Amador, Site Coordinator, Sierra High School 🎉𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨' 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨! #NationalHigherEducationDay #HigherEd #GraduationDay #EducationJourney #ProudGraduate #classof2024
