This Olympics, instead of talking about familiar themes like determination, teamwork or the need for support, Hyundai Motor America is focusing on quitting. Yes. Quitting. For many kids, the passion for their sport doesn’t match the pressures to be the greatest ever....yet many keep playing for fear of disappointing their parents or feeling like quitters. Hyundai and INNOCEAN USA are reminding kids and parents to do the things that bring them joy, and to move on from things that don't. The message is a perfect fit for Hyundai who believes in 'finding joy in the journey' AND so many of these conversations happen in the car. As for the Olympics tie-in...it felt like a good time to remind people that not every kid is destined to be an elite athlete...and that's okay. And as a dad of three who has watched his kids fall in and out of love with sports, and even dealt with a daughter who feigned injury for months so she wouldn't have to go to gymnastics, this one really resonates. Congrats to this team for bravely taking on the topic: Angela Kate Dominique Gui Ryan Tony John Nick Nicolette Melissa Jeremy Alix Paul JEFF Paul Kristi Park Pictures ❤️ 💙

Phenomenal free workshop for youth athletes! Tap in ✅
The growth of the PWHL has shown that women’s hockey is on the rise and I am here for it! The inspiration of this booming women’s professional league means that the growth of girls youth hockey is going to continue to skyrocket. Working with professional and Olympic athletes, they often tell me they wish they would have worked on their mental fitness when they were younger and starting to get serious in their sport. Although it’s come a long way, there are still too few resources for young athletes, especially girls ages 13-17. An NCAA study in 2022, revealed that 38% of women participating in sports reported feeling “mentally exhausted” and 29 percent experienced “overwhelming anxiety”. This is in sharp contrast to 22 percent and 12 percent among men, shedding light on a pressing issue that transcends the realm of mere statistics. I couldn’t be more proud to lead a mental fitness workshop series called Master Your Mind for 14U and 16U girls hockey players start August 10. In partnership with Bladetech Hockey, Youth Sports Business Report and Dust Off Rinkwear, the first workshop is FREE where we’ll focus on the powerful impact words have on the girls performance. Small brag: Dust Off Rinkwear is a limited-edition hockey merch company owned by one of my elite female hockey athletes who is only 15 years old!
