We're starting the summer with a bang! 🎉 Thanks to our committed partner Rockland Trust and their generous, three-year commitment to support our Teen Summer Employment program, we're able to serve and empower local teens by offering summer employment in positions all across the Y. We can't wait to see these teens soar in their careers! Additional thank you to City of Boston, Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement, and Success Link for their support in aiding teens throughout the community. #ymca #ymcaboston #community #partner #teenemployment #summer

As of February 2024, an estimated 22.9% of households with children are facing food insecurity. Delta Air Lines is here to help us lower that statistic. It's because of partnerships like Delta that we're able to feed families, empower children, and help our neighborhoods flourish. #HungerPrevention #ServingtheCommunity #Support #Partner #YMCA #YMCABoston

One of my favorite times of year at YMCA of Greater Boston. Went out to Woburn to hang out with our youngest learners at our Sylvan Rd. Early Learning Center (at this point, our staff knows it's hard to get me to leave an Early Learning Center) and then made sure to have time to head to the celebration ceremony of our group moving up from the ELC to Kindergarten. And at Huntington Ave., first week of day camp ended with superhero day and high five ceremony. Thanks to so many including Kelly MacLean Suzanne Swankowski and their whole teams and all the parents who partner with us on their kids' discovery, learning and development. cc: Linda Stansbury Aline Ricketson Julie Tusa

Congratulations to the Toddlers, Preschoolers, and UPK Graduates at the Roxbury YMCA! Last week, I had the privilege of witnessing the success of the Roxbury YMCA’s adorable little graduates. This event marked a significant milestone in our journey with the Building Togetherness Program, a collaborative initiative between the Redstone Family Foundation and eight YMCA early childhood centers in Greater Boston. This program has been instrumental in fostering a positive self-identity and promoting inclusivity among our earliest learners, just three, four, and five years old, alongside their families and teachers. Our goal is to motivate our youth to strive for a world free from racism, antisemitism, and discrimination. In a nutshell, we’re teaching children to love before they learn to hate. As part of our Building Togetherness Program, the YMCA of Greater Boston early childhood centers were enriched with culturally diverse books and learning materials celebrating the cultures of African Americans, Latinos, Asians/Pacific Islanders, Muslims, Jews, and Christians. These learning materials play a crucial role in helping our children understand and appreciate different cultures and backgrounds throughout the school year. At the graduation, Roxbury YMCA Executive Director Timothy Baymon Jr, MBA expressed the importance of teaching these lessons to children at a young age and expressed his optimism about the program's future. Additionally, Krystal Hinton, Roxbury YMCA Early Education Director, shared they “look forward to continuing this important work in the next school year and paving the way to a more inclusive and accepting future for all.” Thank you again for having me and my Mom at the Roxbury YMCA! I am so excited to see what the future holds for our little graduates.

What an amazing weekend! I am honored and humbled by the people I get to work with at the YMCA of Greater Boston. This past Saturday, staff from across our association participated in our 2nd Annual Experience Symposium and Celebration! During this time we shared best practices, insights on professional development, diversity, and a host of other topics. The overall theme was about investing in the Y staff and how critical it is to connect them to the mission. #YMCA #leadership #leadershipmatters #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment
