About us

Yakama Nation Fisheries protects and restores the Columbia River and the fish that it supports. Through more than 100 current projects, we restore habitat, ensure harvest, and supplement stocks with refined hatchery practices and by mitigating the effects of hydropower. Everyday, we work to honor, protect and restore the Columbia River for the good of the Yakama people and everyone in our region. From its inception in 1983, Yakama Nation Fisheries has employed scientific expertise to develop over 100 innovative projects and partnerships credited with restoring culturally important fish runs in the Columbia River.
