In a festive ribbon cutting, the Belltower Apartments community in Louisville, Ky. have officially opened it's doors! Located in Hikes Point neighborhood, this development features 276 apartment homes, offering a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units. It’s important to note that the St. Barnabas Church and school, served residents on this land and in this area for many decades. As our team worked on the site, many locals came by to ask for pieces of the original buildings. In response, our construction workers set aside a pile of keepsake bricks from the original structure for the community to have. When you drive into this development, you will notice it includes the original bell tower that once stood next to St. Barnabas Church, serving as a poignant reminder of the site's legacy. The entire XPERT team did an amazing and professional job to help this development come to fruition. Everyone Deserves a Quality Place to Live.

At our annual meeting, our XPERT team shared important updates about the developments under construction and educated our teams about the lifecycle of an asset and the importance of collaboration. Employees participated in a game we created, guessing how an asset moves through the completion pipeline. We had a blast watching everyone work together to understand how XPERT Design and Construction operates, emphasizing that our residents are the "single biggest thing." We're pleased to be the General Contractor of the Sheehan Landing development which is a significant step forward in providing secure, supportive housing solutions for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Sheehan Landing will feature 80 units of permanent supportive housing, the residents will benefit from a comprehensive array of services designed to foster independence, growth, and well-being. Wrap-around services, intensive case management, life skills training, and connections to community resources are the cornerstones of our supportive living environment. This community is named after St. John Center founding director, Sister Mary Kathleen Sheehan. The development will be located at 3501 Sheehan Landing Drive, off Preston Highway. Sheehan Landing in expected to open in Spring 2025.

Meet Jaelah Wilson, Jaelah is a resilient force at Xpert, who has carved a unique path in the industry with unwavering determination and a zest for progress. Transitioning from an initial aspiration in teaching to a flourishing career in construction, she credits her childhood passion for DIY projects as the spark that ignited her journey. Her enrollment in the Kentuckiana Builds construction program, offered through the Louisville Urban League, laid the foundation for her skills, and opened doors to numerous opportunities by connecting her with leading companies in the field. As an Assistant Superintendent at Xpert Design and Construction, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless progression of projects, maintaining safety standards, and guaranteeing the quality of work. Her dedication and leadership skills shine through managing site schedules, creating detailed punch lists, and fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence. Her crowning achievement is the completion of Jefferson's Landing, a project that stands as a testament to her resilience and ability to overcome challenges. This project not only showcased her professional growth and ability to build strong relationships but also her commitment to excellence and learning. What sets her apart in the construction industry is her enthusiasm for progress and the joy she finds in connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Her engagement with different cultures enriches her personal and professional life, bringing a unique perspective to her work. Her involvement with influential organizations such as AMPED, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Kentuckiana Builds, and the Louisville Urban League has been instrumental in her career development. These platforms provided her with invaluable support, resources, and networking opportunities that have propelled her forward. Meet Laurie Lott Laurie is reshaping the construction landscape, as our Project Executive at Xpert Design and Construction! From the ground up, this trailblazer has built a career as solid and inspiring as the structures she helps create. Brought up on the foundations of a family-owned construction company, their journey in the industry began under the guidance of a visionary grandfather. This early exposure, combined with a passion for building propelled them from a hands-on Project Coordinator in the bustling city of Austin to the esteemed position of Project Executive. Over a decade of persistence and dedication has seen her climb the ladder, mastering each role with a blend of leadership and technical prowess. Today, as a Project Executive, she orchestrates the symphony of construction, harmonizing the efforts of a diverse team to turn visionary projects into reality. With a keen eye on budgeting, deadlines, and team strategy, she ensures the seamless delivery of high-quality projects that not only meet but exceed expectations. Among her proudest achievements is the Henderson on Reinli project, a 306-unit subterranean podium project. The complexity of this project includes very small acreage, yet still allows for 306 units to provide more affordable housing in the Austin Metro area, an ever-growing city with limited space. What truly fuels her passion for construction is witnessing the transformation of blueprints into breathtaking realities. The challenge of balancing countless moving pieces to reveal a masterpiece of architecture ignites their spirit and drives her success. Beyond the construction sites, her teamwork, and social skills, honed through years of sports, have been pivotal in navigating the complexities of the construction world. This holistic approach to personal and professional development stands as an inspiration for young women aspiring to break ground in construction. Laurie’s advice?
