The numbers are in! Now it's time to review the applications 📝 The Emerging Leaders Program East Africa cohort applications are being reviewed by a selection committee comprised of the Women Deliver team, Women Deliver Young Leader Alumni, and partner organizations who have a focus on adolescent health and wellbeing, including a compilation of activists, medical professionals, and civil society actors from East Africa. We are thrilled to welcome Paola Daher to our team! She will be joining us in August as the Senior Director for Collective Action to lead our Collective Action for Change program, which harnesses the transformative power of alliances, partnerships, and coalitions to propel #GenderEquality and protect the rights of girls and women, particularly during adolescence.
After almost 10 years at the Center for Reproductive Rights, it’s time for me to move on to new adventures. I will forever be grateful to CRR for all the opportunities and lessons I have learnt along the way and for the colleagues, diplomats, UN colleagues and civil society comrades I have had the pleasure and privilege to work (also cry and laugh and despair and rejoice) with. In these horrendously difficult times of genocides, crisis of capitalism, attempts at retrogression on gender equality, sexual rights and reproductive justice, we need to organize, mobilize and harness our collective political power to hold perpetrators of violations accountable and grow our movements. I’m looking forward to starting a new role as Senior Director for Collective Action in August at Women Deliver ✊🏽

The best part about attending the #Bonn meetings? Being part of the #CollectiveAction for #FeministClimateJustice! However, now that the #SB60 climate negotiations have come to an end, we're disappointed at the lack of progress for #ClimateJustice. We had expected action to strengthen and renew the Lima Work Programme on Gender and its Gender Action Plan to better address #HumanRights, including #SRHR. Parties seem to forget that lives are at stake and we are counting on their leadership to address the #ClimateCrisis and the gender injustices it perpetuates. But we are hopeful — and we'll continue to advocate for #ClimateAction at #COP29 where the negotiations will continue. #SRHRClimate
